The Institute of Historical Research (National Hellenic Research Foundation) realized successfully the third ‘Summer School on Ancient Greek and Roman Numismatics’ (1–10 July 2019), organized by Dr Sophia Kremydi (seminar coordinator), Dr Charikleia Papageorgiadou, Dr Evangeline Markou, Dr Andrew Meadows, Dr Panagiotis Iossif, etc.
Within this framework a visit took place at the Benaki Museum, so that the group of attendants would participate in a special seminar course. At the Museum’s auditorium there was held a presentation showcasing the KIKPE Numismatic Collection. Yannis Stoyas (Researcher/Curator) and Stelios Damigos (historian of antiquity) discussed a series of acquisitions from the Collection, while the participants were given also the chance to have a hands-on experience with the selected items.
